Pine River. Moreton Bay.

The Pine River has become one of our most paddled places. It is perfect for a nice, gentle paddle.

There is many places to launch a kayak from along the Pine River. From the start at Sandgate, all the way down to Young’s Crossing at Petrie.

We have seen a massive increase in the amount of kayaks on the river and it is awesome to see.

Woody Point, Redcliffe

If we have a spare hour or 2 on a weekend, we like to head out to Woody Point for a quick paddle. The bay is usually calm & quite protected. It is a perfect spot for beginners & those who are not used to paddling in the open water.

You will often see many other kayakers out here as it is close to Brisbane.

We have been teaching our dog how to keep calm on the kayaks in the bay. It is an interesting experience for all of us. She is not too keen on the waves just yet so we only take her out for a couple of minutes at a time before we head out on a big paddle.

It is the perfect spot to head out to on a Sunday afternoon to watch the sun go down before the madness of another week starts again. There is something totally magical about sitting side by side on our kayaks and watching the sun set behind the mountains while you are sitting in the middle of the bay.

You also get to see a bit of wildlife around these parts. The pelicans love to sit & watch the goings on. There is always jellyfish, quite a few fish & the odd stingray that will come swimming past.

That is why you won’t catch my doing this! On a 40 degree day hubby will just jump in for a minute to cool off. I on the other hand prefer to stay in the kayak.

Every time I come out here for a paddle, I think of how lucky we are to have this right on Brisbane's door step.

The view here never gets boring.

While hubby is loading the kayaks on to the roof of the 4WD, I always take the time to grab the iPhone & snap a couple of photo’s of just how perfect this spot is.

A quick drive home on the Hornibrook Highway & we are home & washing down within 20 minutes.

Noosa River, Noosaville

One of our favourite places to kayak is the Noosa River at Noosaville. The water is crystal clear, the waves are minimal & the scenery is spectacular!

It is a great place for beginners but also just as much fun for the more advanced.

Our 12 year old daughter learnt how to kayak here.

There will be a lot of boats anchored as it is a bit of a safe haven for boats. It is always fun to cruise past the houseboats & dream about that holiday aboard one that you have always wanted.

105

It’s a great place for the whole family to set up base for the day. Just take along a sun shelter as it can get busy so you might miss out on a shady spot.
